COURSE INFORMATION
The Chicago Beachathon presented by Land Shark Lager is a spectacular 4 mile race set in downtown Chicago. Along the course, participants will traverse through 8 tropically outrageous beach obstacles before racing to the finish line and celebrating at the post race Land Shark Luau!
LAND SHARK LUAU
Luau! Luau! After completing the Chicago Beachathon, celebrate at the Land Shark Luau on North Avenue Beach! Rock out to the island sound of a nine piece tropical band while enjoying delicious pina coladas, margaritas and ice cold Land Shark Lager!
RACE PACKET
All participants will receive a 2010 Chicago Beachathon t-shirt, free beer*, entry into the post race Land Shark Luau* (live concert) and cool giveaways from our sponsors.
*Participants 21 years of age and older will receive one free beer with their entry. Additional beer will be available for purchase. Participants must be 21 years of age to enter the post race Land Shark Luau. Please be responsible, do not drink and drive.
AGE GROUP DIVISIONS & AWARDS
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and over.
Awards will be presented to the following categories:
- Top three overall male and female finishers
- Fastest male and female finisher wearing a grass skirt
- Fastest finisher dressed as a banana
- Fastest finisher wearing a Speedo
Are you participating with a large group of friends, your company or entering the "largest group costume contest"? If so, each team will receive one (1) free entry for every ten (10) participants that register. More importantly, what is your team name?
PACKET PICK-UP
Packet pick-up will be available on the following days. If you have registered online, please allow
24 hours before picking up your race packet. You may pick up race packets for other participants.

VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Chicago Beachathon. Volunteers are needed to assist with every aspect of the race, including:
- Race packet preparation
- Course Marshal
- Starting line and finish line support
- Aid station support
- Gear check
- Course set up and tear down
- Race packet pick-up
- Water Stations
- Clean up
TIMING
The Chicago Beachathon will feature the B-Tag ChronoTrack timing system. All participants will receive a B-Tag timing device with their bib number.
GEAR CHECK
Gear check will be available at the race site.
PHOTOS
Smile! Professional sports photographer, Action Sports International (ASI) is the official Chicago Beachathon photographer. Photos will be available at www.asiorders.com after the race.
PARKING & TRANSPORTATION
Please visit the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) website at www.transitchicago.com or the Metra website at www.metrarail.com to determine the best route of travel via public transportation.
Limited paid parking is available at the North Avenue Beach parking lot (LaSalle Street, east of Lake Shore Drive), the Chicago Historical Society parking lot (Clark Street and LaSalle Street, entrance on Stockton Drive) and the Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot (Cannon Drive, south of Fullerton Avenue).
RESULTS
Results will be posted at www.chicagobeachathon.com after the race.
WEATHER POLICY
The Chicago Beachathon will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the event. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
