The Chicago Beachathon, presented by Land Shark Lager, is a beach running, obstacle dodging, beer drinking fun run. This 3.45 mile race navigates along the scenic lakefront running path and throughout the downtown beaches of Chicago.
Along the way, prepare to tackle 12 tropically outrageous beach obstacles before racing to the finish line and celebrating at the epic post-race luau. See you there!

Please note, most of the course takes place on Chicago’s lakefront running path. Only the 12 tropically outrageous beach obstacles venture onto the downtown beaches of Chicago.

Participants must be 21 years of age to enter the post-race Land Shark Luau.

Luau! Luau! After completing the Chicago Beachathon, celebrate at the Land Shark Luau on North Avenue Beach. Rock out to the island sounds of a nine piece tropical band while enjoying pina coladas, margaritas and ice cold Land Shark Lager.

The Chicago Beachathon welcomes the opportunity to work with local groups and organizations within the community.
In exchange for your assistance, we will make a monetary donation to your group or organization. Currently, we are looking for groups and organizations of 10 or more people to volunteer for the race.

NIKE REUSE-A-SHOE PROGRAM
Turn your old sneakers into places to play. The Nike Reuse-A-Shoe program collects worn-out athletic shoes (of all brands) and recycles them into Nike Grind, a material used to help build sport surfaces and playgrounds.
Nike accepts all brands of athletic shoes. However, shoes cannot contain metal, cleats and dress shoes are not accepted.

TIMING
The Chicago Beachathon will feature the B-Tag ChronoTrack timing system. All participants will receive a B-Tag timing device with their bib number.
AGE GROUP DIVISIONS
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
GEAR CHECK
Gear check will be available at the race site.
PHOTOS
Professional sports photographer, Action Sports International (ASI) is the official Chicago Beachathon photographer. Photos will be available at www.asiorders.com after the race.
MILITARY DISCOUNT
A 15% special discount will be given to all members of the US Military, Sheriff Department, Police Department, Fire Department, Teachers, Active Duty Dependents and Veterans. Please email info@chicagobeachathon.com to receive your discount code.
Please note, you will need to present your military ID/identification at packet pick-up to receive your race packet.
PARKING & TRANSPORTATION
Please visit the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) website at www.transitchicago.com or the Metra website at www.metrarail.com to determine the best route of travel via public transportation.
Limited paid parking is available at the North Avenue Beach parking lot (LaSalle Street, east of Lake Shore Drive), the Chicago Historical Society parking lot (Clark Street and LaSalle Street, entrance on Stockton Drive) and the Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot (Cannon Drive, south of Fullerton Avenue).

WEATHER POLICY
The Chicago Beachathon will take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the event. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
